Spammer’s IP Address
Sometimes it’s difficult to determine the IP address of a spammer since they often try to hide this information. Check the e-mail header of a message. Look in the header line that begins with the word “Received: ….”

Instructions for seeing the headers with various e-mail client programs can be found at the US Bureau of Consumer Protection site. Brief instructions you can follow to view the email header from various email programs.

Then you can look up possible blacklistings on this IP address at DNSstuff.com or OpenRBL.org.
