December 26, 2005 | In software |

Close all Mozilla applications (mail client or browser). Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\your-user-name\*Application Data\Thunderbird\Profiles\your-profile-name. NOTE: The Application Data folder may be hidden - check your settings by clicking on Tools > Folder Options in an Explorer window:

Folder Options

Highlight the folder at this location (named either your_name or Default). With your mouse cursor on the selected folder, right-click once and select Edit > Copy from the menu toolbar.

With your Explorer window still open, browse to a convenient location, such as your Desktop, My Documents, or your network drive to paste the copy of the folder to.

TIP: Clicking the Folders icon on the toolbar will toggle your Explorer view between a split and single window.

When you’ve located the location to store your profile, highlight the location and select Edit > Paste from the toolbar menu.
