Trouble with Microsoft adCenter?
Friday, May 5th, 2006Need to fix a problem with Microsoft adCenter? Try the following solutions in the order that they are listed:
1. Confirm that you are running Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or Internet Explorer 6.0 on Microsoft Windows 98 or later. Microsoft adCenter does not currently support Internet Explorer 7.0.
2. Delete the cache and restart the browser:
a. In Internet Explorer, on the “Tools” menu, click “Internet Options.”
b. On the “General” tab, under” Temporary Internet files,” click “Delete Files.”
c. Close and restart the browser.
3. Install the ActiveX control “Corporate Root Certificate Installer,” if the control is not already installed. If the control is not installed, you will be prompted to install the control every time that you log on to adCenter. If you cancel this prompt, you should see a flashing alert bar at the top of the browser window.
4. Add Microsoft adCenter to your trusted sites list:
a. Start Internet Explorer.
b. On the “Tools” menu, click “Internet Options.”
c. Click the “Security” tab, and then click the” Trusted Sites” icon.
d. Click the “Sites” icon, and then click “Sites.”
e. In the “Add this Web site to this zone” box, type the URL for Microsoft adCenter
If you use spaces or dashes in your user name, password, or e-mail address, the best option would be to retype these items without spaces or dashes before you can continue the sign-up process.
Did you sign up with a American Express, Visa, MasterCard as your credit card?
Is the credit card is not at it limit, and the names match exactly from the account to credit card ?
Do the address on the credit card matches the address on the account?
When entering credit card information you will want to make sure that there are no spaces or comma’s in the numbers.
5. If these steps do not help, contact them so that they can investigate the issue. If you can, send them a screenshot of the problem or error that you are encountering. Also, they may need more personal information such as your address, city and state.

Cinco de Mayo 2006
Friday, May 5th, 2006Cinco de Mayo commemorates the victory of Mexican forces over the French expeditionary forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. It has become a celebration and identification with Mexicans, their culture, food, and music by Anglos and other unrelated ethnic groups. It is often mistakenly assumed to be Mexico’s independence day, and in practice, it is usually celebrated on a superficial level. In other words, it’s a good excuse to party.
DIY Ring Light
Thursday, May 4th, 2006Ring lights are designed for a soft, low, but very even light output. They are useful for macro photography (taking very close up images of stamps, coins, small models, insects, etc.) You can make your own ring light out of plywood, light sockets, tape, cord & plug and some wire.
You’ll need to be comfortable with basic hand tools and will probably need to work with a power saw and drill, unless you find a sufficient work around which is quite possible. Be ready to spend about $30-$40 and an hour or two.

One of the first ways Hollywood portrayed the Internet – or something resembling it — was by featuring computer hackers who used their geeky skills to run amok. In 1983’s WarGames, for instance, a baby-faced Matthew Broderick found himself in control of nuclear missiles after accessing a military computer system using the suspiciously hackable password “Joshua.” Countless hacker movies since then have similarly stretched belief in the name of drama.

Google SketchUp (free) is an easy-to-learn 3D modeling program whose few simple tools enable you to create 3D models of houses, sheds, decks, home additions, woodworking projects – even space ships. You can add details, textures and glass to your models, design with dimensional accuracy, and place your finished models in Google Earth, share them with others by posting them to the 3D Warehouse, or print hard copies. Google SketchUp (free) is a great way to discover if 3D modeling is right for you.
