AdSense Referrals Beta

Google sent me an email yesterday about being selected to participate in the AdSense Referrals Beta:

* Earn extra revenue on a cost-per-action basis
* Select ads from hundreds of AdWords advertisers as well as our standard Google product offerings
* Select a list of relevant keywords for your site and let Google figure out the best ads for your site
* Customize your referral ads to match the look and feel of your site
* Track the success of your referral units with custom channels

Note that AdSense Referrals are different from Google Referrals (listed below)

• Google AdSense - Ad revenue for web publishers
• Google AdWords - Targeted online advertising
• Google Checkout - A faster, safer way to shop online
• Google Apps - Communication and collaboration tools for businesses and organizations
• Firefox plus Google Toolbar - Improved web browsing
• Google Pack - Collection of essential software

AdSense Referrals
Unlike with AdSense for content ads, you can endorse referral products by calling attention to the button or text link. For example the travel related ad that follows might take you to a guide to Vegas hotels or some other travel keyword product. The ad rotation process (if you select both a single product and keywords) is something I have yet to figure out.
