Linksys Phone Sex

When Linksys customers in the United States dial the toll-free tech support number printed on the newly released WRH54G router box, they are connected to an adult phone sex service. The router was originally released in India, but Linksys didn’t check to see that the India tech support number, 1-800-XXX-XXXX, when dialed in US, redirects customers to an adult phone sex service.

The Linksys phone sex line snafu reminded me of another amusing Linksys phone number story posted earlier this year.

Web 2.0 Panel @ UCSD

Yesterday I attended the 5th Annual Entrepreneurship Conference at UCSD. It was fun, informative and a overall a very pleasant weekend event.

The afternoon session included a Web 2.0 panel featuring Brian Dear, Founder of Eventful.com and Seth Greenberg, Director of Online Advertising & Internet Media at Intuit and Seth Sternberg, Founder of Meebo.com. Dan O’Neill, the CTO of Trusonic, was the moderator.

Blake Ross - Co-founder of FireFox and Parakey was a keynote speaker.
