The New Lights are Due on My Street
March 31, 2008 | In general |I live in an older neighborhood that has a web of overhead power, cable and phone lines. You can see how congested it is in the first photo. Contractors are digging trenches a few blocks away to lay fiber and maybe the poles and wires will all come down at some far-off future date.* Meanwhile, I captured this 10-minute street light lamp exchange this past weekend just outside my front door.

Yeah, I’m in a bit of a TZ frame of mind today.
*Update: According to the city’s most recent estimate, it will take 53 years and cost $2.87 billion to remove all overhead wires.
